Psychotherapy & Counselling
My goal is to help you explore and make sense of what is going on for you, to put it into words, and for us to look for answers and strategies that work for you, so that you no longer feel alone with your loss and grief.
I trained in psychodynamic and existential theories but work in a way that can best be described as ‘integrative’. This means that I use skills and techniques that are most suited to you as an individual and what you want to achieve through counselling.
I also offer EMDR – an evidence-based treatment that allows you to let go of traumatic memories that have become stuck in your mind by stimulating changes in your brain chemistry with the use of alternating eye movements, sounds and/or taps; helping you to process the obstacles that complicate grief, access positive memories to support you in building a bridge between your life before and after loss, and ultimately achieve relief.
I am committed to delivering a high-quality service and work within the BACP’s Ethical Framework.
I offer therapy both in-person at my rooms in Heaton Chapel, by telephone and online via Zoom.
Get in touch today to see how we can work together so that you can start to embrace life more fully.
There’s an elephant in the room. We all know it is there. We are thinking about the elephant as we talk together. It is constantly on our minds. For, you see, it is a very big elephant.
